The Riverside Angling Club is a small angling club which holds fishing rights on the banks of the Upper Bristol Avon, based around Cowbridge Mill, Malmesbury. Approximately 1 mile of primarily mixed coarse fishing; the river offers sport for species including roach, bream, dace, chub, perch and pike, with the occasional rainbow and brown trout along faster stretches.

The Upper Bristol Avon is categorised as a lowland clay river with limestone influences. As a result, the stretch immediately around Cowbridge Mill contains a variety of habitats, and a rich diversity of fish species to be caught by the keen and patient angler.

There exist deep, slow glides where good shoals of bream graze amongst the silt. In contrast, fast gravel-dominated riffles can be found further downstream, where brown trout, dace and the occasional grayling lay in rest for an eager anglers' bait. Throughout, pools, eddies and runs lay hold to wary species such as chub and pike, which must be tempted by stealth-like determination.

Whether on the pole, stick float, leger, or the fly, the river holds pleasure for all natures of angling.

Held amongst peaceful serenity amongst the Wiltshire countryside, the Riverside Angling Club welcomes members new and old who wish to capture some of the magic of the Bristol Avon in all its glory.
